Terms

Last updated October 27, 2026. These terms apply to Early Pigeon Personal, sold by MI-ES.

1. The offer

• Early Pigeon Personal costs US$49, paid once.
• There is one license type only. There is no Business tier, no subscription and no trial.
• Taxes are calculated at checkout and added on top of the price.
• Payment is handled by our payment provider (Stripe Managed Payments, merchant of record). We never see the full card number.

2. What the license gives

• A perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable license for one named person.
• Every feature of the current version and every update we release for Early Pigeon, at no extra cost. We make no promise of any particular update or release schedule.
• Use for personal or work purposes, including as a freelancer or self-employed professional.
• Up to 5 computers active at the same time. Buyers see and remove their active computers in their account on earlypigeon.com. When a 6th computer is activated, the app lists the 5 active ones and lets the buyer free one on the spot. A freed computer stops working until it is activated again.
• People invited to a chat or meeting can join from their web browser for free, without buying or creating an account. Only license holders create rooms and meetings.

3. Buying, download and activation

1. Buy with an email and card on earlypigeon.com. No account to set up first.
2. The thank-you page shows the license key and a one-time download link, and asks for a password to create the account. The key is also emailed.
3. Later downloads are only available in the account, for signed-in owners.
4. On first start, Early Pigeon asks for the license key and activates that computer (internet needed once).
5. About once a week, when online, the app confirms the license is still valid. If our server cannot be reached, it keeps working. A license stops working only after a full refund or a bank reversal is confirmed.
6. Windows only for 1.0. The installer is not code-signed. The download page explains the Windows "More info, then Run anyway" step and shows the SHA-256 checksum. Updates install from inside the app.

4. Chat and meeting service

• Calls and messages go directly between participants whenever possible. When a network blocks that, they pass through our relay, still end-to-end encrypted.
• Messages for someone who is offline wait on our server, end-to-end encrypted (we cannot read them), and are deleted once delivered, or after 30 days at most. Attached files follow the same rule.
• No recording. No limit on meeting length for direct calls and no hard limit on meeting size. Video quality adapts as people join.
• Fair-use limits exist only to stop abuse, and we may change them: 60 messages per minute per person; 3 open meetings at once per license; meetings that need the relay end after 4 hours and can be restarted right away.
• The online chat and meeting service is provided while Early Pigeon is offered for sale. We may change, limit, suspend or end the service, or its fair-use limits, at any time and without notice. Mail, calendar and everything stored on your computer do not depend on it.

5. Refunds

See the refund policy. You can get a full refund within 30 days of purchase.

6. What buyers can't do

• Share, sell, publish or give away the license key.
• Copy and redistribute the software, or offer it as a service to others.
• Remove or work around the license check, or reverse engineer the software, except where the law allows it.
• Use the chat and meeting service to send spam or bulk unsolicited messages, or to overload it.

7. Support and updates

• Support is provided through support requests at earlypigeon.com/support, while Early Pigeon is offered for sale. There is no support obligation after that.
• We intend to keep improving Early Pigeon and to release updates for free. This is an intention, not a commitment.

8. Warranty, liability and law

Early Pigeon is provided "as is". We work hard to make it reliable, but we can't promise it will be free of errors or suit every purpose. Keep backups of important messages and files. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim related to Early Pigeon is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost data or profits.

These terms are governed by the laws of Québec, Canada, without limiting consumer rights you have where you live.
